FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 3, 2025
CLEVELAND—The Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA), Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (moCa Cleveland) and The Sculpture Center have teamed up to launch the Contemporary Art Corridor Walking Tour, offering a new way to explore and experience exhibitions at three influential University Circle institutions.
The Contemporary Art Corridor Walking Tour will showcase engaging work by local and international artists who represent diverse backgrounds and artistic practices, along the way providing space for conversation, inviting reflection and inspiring curiosity among participants.
"This walking tour is perfect for any art enthusiast eager to deepen their understanding of contemporary art and the institutions that care for it," says Nikki Woods, CIA's Director of Exhibitions + Galleries. "I'm thrilled to partner with moCa Cleveland and The Sculpture Center—two amazing University Circle neighbors in both proximity and mission—to share meaningful connections across our programs."
The Contemporary Art Corridor Walking Tour will take place from 2 to 4pm Friday, July 11 along a half-mile stretch of Euclid Avenue in University Circle’s Uptown district. The tour is free and open to all but participation is limited. Registration is required.
"This area showcases a dynamic mix of contemporary art by artists from Cleveland and beyond. It’s exciting to discover new ways to connect their work and the energy of Cleveland's neighborhoods," says Tom Poole, Senior Operations Officer at moCa Cleveland.
The walking tour will begin at The Sculpture Center (12210 Euclid Ave., Cleveland), where Edra Soto: La Casa de Todos | Everyone’s Home and La Casa Compartida | The Home We Share are currently on view. Together, these exhibitions explore stories of migration, displacement and cultural memory shared by Cleveland's Latinx community.
The tour will continue to CIA’s Reinberger Gallery (11610 Euclid Ave., Cleveland), where the college of art and design's 2025 Alumni Exhibition, Holding Up the Mirror, is on view. The exhibition, featuring the work of 38 CIA alums, seeks to explore our present moment and reflect the various ways artists imagine new paths forward for humanity while holding space for truth, change and collective care.
The tour will finish at moCa Cleveland (11400 Euclid Ave., Cleveland), where Clotilde Jiménez: Shapeshift and Erykah Townsend: "Happy" Holidays—exhibitions by two CIA alumni—are on view. Rounding out moCa Cleveland’s summer/fall season are Maggie Menghan Chen: Body Building Exercise, Kelli Connell: Double Life and Beverly Semmes: The Dresses.
Staff at each location will briefly introduce their exhibitions, and guests can expect to spend about 30 minutes at each venue to experience and enjoy the artwork. Light refreshments will be served at moCa Cleveland to conclude the tour.
Free parking for the Contemporary Art Corridor Walking Tour will be available at CIA and The Sculpture Center. This event will take place rain or shine. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes.

Cleveland Institute of Art
The Cleveland Institute of Art is a private, nonprofit college of art and design that has been the training ground for countless students who have gone on to make important contributions to the fields of creativity and innovation since it opened in 1882 as the Western Reserve School of Design for Women. Its students have designed internationally recognized products, their artwork has been exhibited in major museums and private collections around the world, and their entertainment media has been enjoyed by audiences and game players for generations. It enrolls about 600 students nationally and internationally and has a faculty of about 100 full-time and adjunct members, all of whom are practicing artists, designers and scholars.
The Sculpture Center
Founded in 1989, The Sculpture Center (TSC) provides critical resources to sculptors along their journey. TSC is one of a few institutions in the country dedicated solely to sculpture and advances the careers of sculpture specific artists through creation, exhibition, mentoring, and conversation. TSC believes that no matter their career stage, artists of all voices and backgrounds need opportunities to create without commercial constraints so they may contribute to the communities we want to live in. Through a year-round series of exhibitions, talks, and events, TSC seeks to become a regionally and nationally recognized cultural space for sculptors where creative ideas, experiences, and the community connect and flourish.
