Pamela Argentieri's work has focused on one-of-a-kind studio jewelry and objects. She earned a BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art in 1987, and her jewelry is sold in galleries throughout the United States. Argentieri answered a few questions about being an artist and what it's like to be in Pre-College.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE ARTIST?

William Harper is one of the greatest living art jewelers today, and he was my favorite professor at CIA.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WHO IS EXCITED BUT ALSO A LITTLE NERVOUS ABOUT TAKING YOUR CLASS?

Everyone is nervous when trying something new. Our class is very open, supportive and fun.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR ART DISCIPLINE?

I love the whole process: designing, fabricating and selling collections of jewelry and functional objects.

TELL US ABOUT ONE MOMENT WHEN YOU AWARE OF FEELING REALLY SUCCESSFUL OR HAPPY IN YOUR WORK?

I just had an exhibition at Aaron Faber Gallery in New York that also traveled to SOFA Chicago, which is a wonderful international exhibition.

WHAT’S THE MOST DIFFICULT THING ABOUT BEING AN ARTIST?

I would say that being an artist takes a lot of time, but when you are enjoying the work it’s fulfilling.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW NOW THAT YOU WISH YOU KNEW WHEN YOU WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL?

When I was in high school, I was not aware of all the career paths in art and design. There are so many new and innovative ways of creating and being an artist.
