Growing up in Pittsburgh, David Huffman did his best to wear out his family’s VCR.
“Every day when I would come home from school, I would stop and rent three movies for $2 at one of the video stores in town,” he says. “I just plowed through so many movies back in high school.”
Those countless hours glued to the television weren’t wasted, as Huffman — who’s worked for Cleveland Cinemas for more than two decades — on June 1 will begin his tenure as the director of the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque.
