Nicole Condon-Shih is an artist whose research-driven practice explores the intersections of art, science, and technology. Investigating the relationships between microscopic and macroscopic systems, her work visualizes biological structures and environmental urgencies. Inspired by resilient organisms like lichen, she explores symbiosis, adaptation, and the unseen networks that shape our ecosystems.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in the Sim-biotic exhibition at the Venice Arsenale during the 2022 Venice Biennale, at the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism & Architecture in Hong Kong and the B3 Biennale of the Moving Image in Beijing. She has also completed commissions for Case Western Reserve University and is part of the Summa Health Systems collection, among others.
Nicole focuses her pedagogical research towards interdisciplinary foundation curriculum and is an active member of FATE (Foundations in Art: Theory and Education). Her art practice continually informs her teaching, just as teaching is integral to her practice as an artist, researcher, and academic leader.
