Amanda Fronek is a higher education administrator with 15 years of progressive student affairs leadership experience, getting her start as the graduate assistant for orientation and student life at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Throughout her career she has served a variety of institutions including state universities, community colleges, and in private liberal arts environments. Fronek has experience overseeing multiple student affairs functions encompassing student life and engagement, student success and retention, cocurricular assessment, disability support services, student conduct, behavior intervention, DEIAB initiatives, leadership development, enrollment management, and orientation.
Prior to beginning her role as CIA's Dean of Students, she previously served as the assistant dean of student success at Oberlin College and Conservatory, the assistant dean of student affairs and director of student engagement at Cuyahoga Community College, the director of student life and support services at Ivy Tech Community College, and the assistant director of admissions and orientation at Ball State University.
Fronek is a first-generation college student who holds a Bachelor’s of Science in chemistry from Baldwin Wallace University along with a Master’s of Education in higher education administration and student personnel, a graduate certificate in institutional research and assessment, and a Ph.D. in higher education administration all from Kent State University.
