Spend your lunch hour with multimedia sculptor Ling-lin Ku as she discusses her studio practice and art trajectory.

Ku’s talk will take place during Lunch on Fridays from 12:15 to 1:30pm Friday, April 10 in CIA's Peter B. Lewis Theater.

Ling-lin Ku’s studio practice merges traditional techniques with emerging technologies, resulting in sculptural installations that are materially rich, playful, and conceptually layered. This spring Ku is presenting a solo exhibition as part of The Sculpture Center’s 2026 Revealed Emerging Artist Solo Exhibition Series. The exhibition will be on view at The Sculpture Center April 10 through June 6, 2026.

This edition of Lunch on Fridays is held in partnership with The Sculpture Center.

Speaker Bio:

Ling-lin Ku is a multimedia sculptor whose studio practice is both a playground and an alchemy of the world where she plays in-between tangible materials and digital data. Her work merges traditional techniques with emerging technologies, resulting in sculptural installations that are materially rich, playful, and conceptually layered.

She has exhibited nationally and internationally, with solo exhibitions at CUE Art Foundation in New York City (NY), 18th Street Arts Center in Los Angeles (CA), Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum in Austin (TX) Baltimore Jewelry Center (MD), La Heurta Gallery in Barcelona, Spain, and Atelier 11 in Paris, France.

Ling-lin is the recipient of the Seebach Prize in Fine Art from the American Austrian Foundation, the Umlauf Expanded Prize, and a Houston Artadia Fellowship. Her work has been recognized with an Honorable Mention for the International Sculpture Center’s Innovator Award in 2022, and with Harpo Foundation grant in 2025.

Ling-lin earned her MFA from the University of Texas at Austin (2019) and her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University (2016). She is currently a faculty member at Oberlin College.

Parking: Lunch on Fridays attendees may park in CIA's Lot 73 and Annex Lot, both of which surround our campus. Please note that signs posted around those lots correctly state that parking typically requires a CIA permit or visitor pass and that violators will be ticketed. However, to accommodate our valued Lunch on Fridays attendees, that policy won't be enforced during the program. Have questions? Please contact Reinberger Gallery at reinbergergallery@cia.edu or 216.421.7407.
