An Illusion of Loveliness, a series of prints by Painting and Printmaking senior Jamie Brinker, will feature a selection of works that examine the female experience and critiques contemporary standards of being. Pieces range from lithographs to experimental monotypes. These prints exist as an extension of Brinker’s Flower People series, which portrays female-presenting bodies as depictions of flowers.
An Illusion of Loveliness will open from 5 to 8pm Friday, October 4 at Deep Dive Art Projects in Cleveland's Waterloo Arts District. The opening reception will take place during the district's monthly Walk All Over Waterloo art walk.
Deep Dive Art Projects, LLC is housed at the Deep End at 423 E. 156th St. in Cleveland. The first-floor print workshop is used for print-based projects and artist residencies. The upstairs viewing room allows for intimate exhibitions of works on paper. Established in 2020 by Bellamy Printz, DDAP offers art advisory and consulting, appraisals and professional coaching for artists. For more information, please visit deepdiveart.com. An Illusion of Loveliness was created through CIA's Creativity Works program, which is made possible by the generous support of the Fenn Educational Fund and the G.R. Lincoln Family Foundation. Creativity Works is a self-initiated internship program with the goal of supporting a student's professional development. Participating students create proposals that align with their long-term professional goals.
