Sofia Cina ('24 Life Sciences Illustration)
Sofia is a medical illustrator at the Cleveland FES Center. Through her coursework at CIA, she gained a strong passion and appreciation for anatomy, paleontology, and research. She interned at the Cleveland FES Center during her junior and senior years at CIA, after which she transitioned to a full time illustration position. She now aids biomedical engineers and medical professionals in communicating their research concepts through illustration, graphic design, and photography. She has also completed independent contract work from clients from University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, the Massachusetts Institution of Technology, and other educational institutions.
Sofia is also pursuing her Master's degree in Applied Anatomy at CWRU to further her understanding of the subjects she illustrates. She hopes to broaden her scope of work using both her artistic skill and anatomical knowledge to aid both professional and lay audiences in further understanding anatomy, healthcare, and the natural world.
