Alex Anthes ('11 Printmaking)
Alex Anthes is a non-traditional printmaker and mixed-media artist based in Erie, Pennsylvania. She holds a BFA in Printmaking from the Cleveland Institute of Art and an MFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Print Media and Photography from Kent State University.
Anthes has contributed to Erie’s public art landscape with two permanent installations—one at the West Bayfront Mini Mall and another at the Erie Center for Arts and Technology. Her work has also been featured in Cleveland, Ohio’s Rapid Transit Authority. These projects were made possible through support from Erie Arts & Culture’s Creating with the Community initiative, EAC’s Views Festival, and Cleveland’s LAND Studio Inter | Urban: The Onboard Project.
This fall, Anthes will be the Sandbox Resident Artist at FEED Media Center. She currently serves as the Education Manager at the Erie Art Museum, where she connects visitors and teaching artists with meaningful educational opportunities and programming.
