International Students
Study Art + Design at Cleveland Institute of Art
Cleveland Institute of Art, consistently ranked among the top art and design colleges in the United States, warmly welcomes international student applicants to join our vibrant, diverse and globally engaged creative community.
Through a hands-on, 4-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree, students become creative leaders who inspire others, strengthen communities and contribute to a thriving and sustainable economy. CIA alumni have built careers at global companies including Disney, LEGO, NASA, Epic Games and more, carrying forward a legacy of innovation, artistry and impact.
FINANCE YOUR EDUCATION
Financial aid options for international students vary by eligibility. While U.S. federal aid is not available, students may receive support through other funding opportunities. Our admissions and financial aid teams are available to help international students understand costs, explore available resources, and plan for their education!
Merit scholarships are awarded by CIA based on portfolio strength and academic achievements. These scholarships can be up to $30,000 for international students.
If a scholarship has an application fee, don’t apply. If you must pay money to get money, it’s most likely a scam.
As an international student, you may be eligible for loan options from your home country bank or government. Additionally, many major U.S. Private lenders become available if a student has a U.S. Citizen co-signer. There are private lenders with no co-signer required:
Language Requirements

- TOEFL iBT: 60
