Two veteran higher education professionals have joined the senior leadership team at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
Jesse L. Grant PhD, Dean of Students, and David Sigman, Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing, will play key roles at the 138-year-old college of art and design.
Grant joined CIA July 1. As Dean of Students, he supports the student experience beyond academic life.
He brings more than 25 years of experience to the role. Prior to CIA, he was Associate Vice President for Student Life and Success at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota.
As a longtime educator, Grant also has taught courses in higher education administration, leadership, research methods, and student affairs across the country.
Grant earned his doctorate in higher education leadership at Western Michigan University. He received his Master of Arts in Counselor Education at the University of Iowa and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree at Kent State University. He is certified by the Association of Title IX Investigators and is a reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.
Sigman will be responsible for attracting and retaining new students and designing the College's marketing and advertising strategy. He begins August 24.
Sigman, who most recently was Director of Admissions at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, has devoted his career to enrollment management. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and completed the certificate program at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts with a focus in studio art and art history.
As an enrollment manager, Sigman is committed to supporting students and families as they navigate the college selection process. He is keenly focused on relationship building and cultivating a dynamic and data-driven culture that provides students and families with unparalleled support and engagement.
