Spend your lunch hour hearing from Life Sciences Illustration Associate Professor Thomas Nowacki as he presents "Diving Deep: Into 3D Modeling and the Caribbean Sea" during Lunch on Fridays from 12:15 to 1:30pm Friday, February 28 in CIA's Peter B. Lewis Theater.
"Diving Deep" will take attendees on a medical illustrator’s journey through digital sculpting, public health animation and weekly underwater escapes. The presentation will Nowacki’s sabbatical at St. George’s University in Grenada, where he focused on (re)learning ZBrush as a tool for medical illustration and its integration into VR/AR platforms like Sketchfab.
Nowacki will discuss the applications of digital sculpting in anatomical visualization and his experience creating a public service animation on the retrovirus HTLV-1. Additionally, he will highlight the potential of emerging 3D technologies in medical education and public health communication. And when Nowacki wasn’t sculpting in ZBrush or working on medical illustrations, he spent my time diving in the reefs of the Caribbean Sea around Grenada—one tank at a time.
