CAPTURE YOUR VISION

Photography is beautiful, political, cultural and personal. You’ll learn both traditional and digital techniques, including time and motion based work. Find your unique photographic style and develop the skills to thrive in an ever-changing world of photography.

Why Photo at CIA?

You’ll spend your time in facilities decked out with a variety of photographic and video imaging tools.  Think enlargers and darkroom equipment, optical scanners, archival and large format inkjet printer and more. Our two-story professional studio with lighting equipment is the place to set up and get the perfect shot.

And don’t forget your ID card also gets you access to check out the latest equipment for still photography and digital video, lighting and sound through Equipment Checkout!

You’ll have your very own studio space starting your sophomore year. Decorate and fill your space with what inspires you the most —posters, tools, pictures of friends and pets. The options are endless.

Another huge benefit is that you won’t have to carry your materials back and forth between home and school. You can store your supplies right in your home away from home.

Optics, light, time, frame and theory. These concepts combined with the equipment techniques for studio lighting equipment, image editing software, wet lab darkroom equipment and more provide you with the skills to be a professional, working photographer.
