Destyni Green ('21 Sculpture + Expanded Media)
Destyni Green (BFA Sculpture & Expanded Media, 2021) is an arts administrator, researcher, and artist based in Cleveland. As the current Director of the Orange Art Center, she leads the center’s operations, programming, and hiring, creating accessible visual art experiences for learners of all ages. Her career in arts administration also includes The Morgan Conservatory, where she managed artist residencies, internships, and equity-focused funding for the local community, and the Sculpture Center, where she researched outdoor sculptures in Ohio and produced the curated driving tour “Art in Our Midst: African American Sculptors to Know,” which was featured on the Emmy Award-winning show Broad & High.
Destyni holds a Master of Arts Administration from the University of Kentucky (‘23) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Art Administration there, where she teaches art administration courses at the undergraduate level and assists with graduate courses. She co-organized the inaugural Women’s Perspectives in Arts Administration Symposium in 2023, and she presented research and served as a panelist at the Social Theory, Politics, and the Arts Conference in 2023. Her current research investigates the artist-to-administrator pipeline.
Destyni was the 2025 recipient of the Arts Alive Rising Arts Leader Award presented by Summit Art Space. As a visual artist, she continues to practice by exploring textiles, ceramics, and archiving memories. Her studio training and creative writing concentration at the Cleveland Institute of Art continue to shape how she approaches arts leadership: from the perspective of an artist who wants to build more equitable, accessible paths for others in the field.
