Check the Expiration Date, organized by Printmaking senior Jon Jackson, is a group exhibition exploring food insecurity, access and convenience. The show will feature artwork by Jackson as well as interdisciplinary artist Scout Bach and CIA Life Sciences Illustration student Jordan Rose through a series of drawings, paintings and other works.

With food being something that can bring people together, Check the Expiration Date encourages viewers to reflect on the importance of what we consume daily and how that can impact who we are. Jackson also seeks to highlight the importance of hospitality through shared connections of convenience store runs to things like enjoying your favorite comfort foods.

Check the Expiration Date opens during a reception from 6 to 8pm Thursday, October 8 in the Akhsó Gallery at ATNSC: Center for Art, Practice and Inquiry (11808 Cromwell Ave., Cleveland). The exhibition will remain on view through Thursday, October 29.

Check the Expiration Date was created through the Creativity Works program, which is made possible by the generous support of the Fenn Educational Fund and the G.R. Lincoln Family Foundation. Creativity Works is a self-initiated internship program with the goal of supporting a student's professional development. Participating students create proposals that align with their long-term professional goals.
