Student Life . Student Services . Tutoring
Tutoring is available free of charge to all CIA students for liberal arts classes. In addition to course-specific material, students can receive help with note taking, term paper preparation, test-taking strategies, and other study skills through one-on-one peer tutoring by upper-class students.
Through the Writing and Learning Center, which students can use on a walk-in basis for assistance with writing and editing term papers.
The Tutoring Program is set up to serve you in different ways according to your individual needs. Whether that means a quick run through of a paper or study sessions throughout the semester, there is a tutoring plan that will work for you.
You can receive tutoring for any liberal arts class.
Stop by the Academic Services Office and talk with Jill Milenski to be assigned a tutor based on your specific needs. You also can drop by the Writing and Learning Center during designated hours and a tutor can assist you immediately.
The tutors are students who have been referred by faculty as outstanding students in both art history and composition courses. They are paid peer-tutors who have been trained to work with students struggling in their academics.
Once you’re assigned a tutor, you and your tutor will schedule a time and location that are mutually agreeable. For many students, it works best to meet in the Writing and Learning Center during your tutor’s regularly scheduled hours. If those hours are not suitable, you may meet outside of those hours at any other location.
Tutoring at CIA is FREE!
