CIA’s campus is in the heart of University Circle, Cleveland’s cultural district. Chosen by Forbes Magazine as “one of the ten prettiest neighborhoods in the country,” University Circle is home to over 12,000 students from Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and CIA. Here, you’ll enjoy a wealth of art and culture that includes botanical gardens, a symphony orchestra, six museums, and a planetarium.
Our campus is also part of the Uptown Project, an exciting new development that includes restaurants, retail shopping and a grocery store. In short, it’s a fantastic place to live, learn, and be inspired.
78th Street Studios is the largest art and design complex in Northeast Ohio, featuring 170,000 square feet of art galleries, artist studios, performance spaces, and music recording studios. Primarily known as an attraction for fine art, 78th Street Studios has quickly become an incubator for businesses in the fields of product design, publishing, music and special events. All viewing hours listed below are free and open to the public.

Artists are often inspired by the beauty of nature. CIA students are fortunate to be surrounded by spacious parks and tranquil lagoons, as well as the uniquely designed Cleveland Botanical Garden, located just across the street. It features five distinct gardens with more than 3,000 species of trees, perennials and shrubs.

The Cleveland Cultural Gardens are one of Northeast Ohio’s oldest and most beautiful treasures. Some 35 dedicated gardens, designed and cultivated by distinct cultural or nationality groups, adorn the drive along Martin Luther King Boulevard and East Boulevard in Rockefeller Park. Depicted in the gardens are the poets, philosophers, peacemakers, composers, scientists and others who have contributed to world culture. Also featured in the gardens are symbolic sculptures and replicas of or tributes to sacred monuments in other lands.
The Cultural Gardens are in Rockefeller Park, which stretches between I-90/East Shoreway (which runs along Lake Erie) to the north and University Circle on the southern end
The Cleveland Institute of Music is one of just seven independent conservatories of music in the United States, one of three devoted exclusively to classical music performance. Its faculty and students present a robust schedule of exceeptional performances throughout the year.
Explore 18 reservations spanning more than 24,000 acres with more than 300 miles of trails, eight golf courses, eight lakefront parks and a nationally-acclaimed zoo.
For visual art beyond CIA's own resources, students have access to the world-renowned Cleveland Museum of Art, conveniently located across the street from the Gund Building. The Museum's collection is rich in work from Asia and medieval Europe, along with Old Master, Impressionist and Modern masterpieces.

Ohio's oldest and largest natural history museum is just a short walk from CIA. The Museum includes exhibits on human ecology, prehistoric creatures, and the formation of the earth, rocks and gems. The museum also features a planetarium and an outdoor area that is home to bald eagles, foxes and other wildlife.

Our Health Education Campus comprises two buildings, the Sheila and Eric Samson Pavilion and the Dental Clinic. The Grog Shop opened in September of 1992 in the Coventry Rd. neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. Though expanded in size when moved to it’s current location in 2003, the club maintains the intimacy and raw character it has always been known for. We have a full bar with an extensive list of micro-brews, imports, and domestic beer, and of course plenty of liquor.
We strive to showcase live music 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Grog Shop has played host to countless local, national, and international touring acts for over twenty years, booking all ranges of indie rock, hip-hop, hardcore, jam, reggae, metal, electronic, comedy… You get the idea.

The Kelvin Smith Library, completed in the summer of 1996, is the center of information at Case Western Reserve University. This striking building represents the "library of the future." Stressing emerging technology, this library is the latest in electronic information management.

Michael Symon’s Cleveland-style barbecue restaurant Mabel's BBQ East 4th opened in April of 2016. Inspired by his respect and passion for regional barbecue across the U.S., Symon aimed to create a style that Clevelanders can call their own by incorporating Bertman’s Ballpark Mustard into the barbecue sauce, using Eastern European spices and smoking meat over local fruitwood.

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland moved to University Circle with an iconic new building designed by the architect Farshid Moussavi.
moCa is not a traditional collecting museum. moCa is a contemporary non-collecting museum that celebrates the art and artists of our time. Each season moCa showcases an array of fresh voices within contemporary art that reflect the art and ideas of the moment and our time. moCa has the unique privilege of being Northeast Ohio's most recognizable arts organization solely dedicated to contemporary art.

Peter B Lewis Building

The facility for the Weatherhead School of Management was designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry. The Peter B. Lewis Building is equipped with classrooms, study rooms and the fastest computing network at any US B-school. The building depicts "Gehry's vision of a gleaming waterfall splashing over boulders in a mountain stream," according to critic Steven Litt, of The Plain Dealer.

Presti’s Bakery is an integral part of Cleveland’s Little Italy as well as the surrounding areas which include University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, University Circle and the Cleveland Clinic. Claudia’s son Michael is now the pastry chef and fourth generation using only the freshest ingredients to produce the finest quality baked goods. Fresh bread, donuts, cookies, cakes and pastries are still made by hand using the same recipes and techniques originally created by Rose and Charles Presti. The bakery has expanded its menu to include a full line of fresh deli salads, pizza, stromboli, lunch and dinner specials as well as a catering menu. We look forward to providing you with a “sweet” experience on your next trip to Presti’s Bakery in Little Italy.

The Cleveland Museum of Art is pleased to present Provenance, Provenance Café, and Catering by Provenance, a three-pronged dining concept created through an ongoing partnership between the museum, Bon Appétit Management Company, and celebrated chef Douglas Katz. The name “Provenance” is derived from the French provenir, meaning “to come from.” The word refers to the chronology of ownership pertaining to a historical object or work of art. but can also be used when describing the origin of food—particularly food from local sources. Provenance, Provenance Café, and Catering by Provenance marry the concept of locally sourced foods with the lineages of nearly 45,000 objects in the Cleveland Museum of Art’s collection
CIA's Reinberger Gallery supports the creative work of professional artists by providing quality exhibition opportunities. It also serves CIA students, faculty and the community as an educational resource, and particularly to encourage artistic growth and experimentation through well-presented exhibitions, events and lectures.

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is a multi-purpose arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The building is the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association and the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League.
Big name artists from around the world host tours here at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Recently artists like Lizzo, The Jonas Brothers, Madonna, KISS, and so many more!
Severance Hall is home to the internationally renown Cleveland Orchestra. CIA students have the opportunity to see the symphony orchestra perform from September through May. Severance Hall is located just one short block from CIA.

SPACES is the resource and public forum for artists who explore and experiment.
SPACES commissions artists from around the world—at all stages of their careers—to make new work that is responsive to timely issues. We use these projects as a jumping off point to create educational initiatives that help develop a more informed citizenry. We also distribute grants to artists outside of our residency and exhibition programs.

Founded in 1989, The Sculpture Center is one of the only 501(c)(3) cultural institutions providing critical resources to sculptors along their journey. Wade Oval is one of northeast Ohio's premier public spaces, home to events year-round like WOW! Wade Oval Wednesdays, Parade the Circle & Circle Village, and The Rink at Wade Oval.
An array of lawn games are available to play on Wade Oval during the warmer months of the year. Have fun with bocce, a giant "Connect Four," and the Imagination Playground. Budding musicians can play instruments at Wade Oval's Harmony Park.
Amenities at the park include a seven-acre park, the Kulas Community Stage (100' wide and 20' deep), and on-site access to water and electricity.
