Student Life . Orientation . StART

As a first-time freshman or transfer student, you get all your new student business out of the way at StART. When you come to Fall Orientation in August, you'll be ready to learn about living and learning at Cleveland Institute of Art.

What Is StART?

StART is CIA's mandatory, online summer program for all incoming first-year and transfer students. Using CIA's online student portal system, myCIA, students will have an opportunity to view videos, download resources, and submit vital paperwork to the school. Best part, students can do this at their leisure and from the comfort of their own home!

Using StART online, you will:

  • Submit your student ID picture
  • Learn about Paying your Bill and Financial Aid
  • Understand your Class Schedule and Transfer Credits
  • Complete Your Work Study Paperwork
  • Make either in-person or on-line appointments with Financial Aid
  • Be able to download First-year supply lists
  • Register for Learning Support Services if you have a documented disability

For students who are living on campus:

  • Fill out your roommate matching form if you plan to live on-campus
  • Receive instruction on how to fill out Housing forms
  • Download information about what to bring and what not to bring

For commuter students:

  • How to pay for and obtain your parking pass
  • How to get involved on campus as a commuter student
