Student profile: Anna Swiatowy

Graphic Design major Anna Swiatowy ’19 spent the summer of 2018 doing an internship at the Big Machine Label Group in Nashville.

"This internship has been such an amazing experience and such a perfect fit for me, considering my passion for music and desire to get into the music industry. I’ve worked on cover art for Spotify, album art cover for artists on our label, managed meet-and-greets at the store downtown curing CMA Fest, and created ads for magazines along with lots social media assets."
What’s been the best part of your internship?
That I’ve been treated like a real employee and work alongside the other two top graphic designers at the company. I’m not treated like an intern who runs errands. Being given a ton of responsibility at such a large company has given me such amazing experiences.

What’s been the biggest surprise of your internship?
The biggest surprise was how well the company treated the interns. We had a panel every Friday that met for two hours, where all the interns from other departments got together. Some were in music business, radio promotion, publicity, video and many other departments. It was shocking to see so many other areas of the company, and it opened up my mind to all of the possibilities. Each Friday a different department would come in and present to us exactly what they do within the company.
