Interior Design Alum Wins Top Industry Award

Adam Carmichael '03 wins PAVE award.

Adam Carmichael, director of store design for Saks Fifth Avenue, took home the 2011 Rising Star Award from The Planning and Visual Education (PAVE) Partnership, a national organization dedicated to nurturing and encouraging young talented individuals.

“I would not be where I am today without the education and experience I received at the Institute,” says Carmichael. “I am one of the most fortunate people in my industry because I have had the most amazing mentors, both academic and professional.”

Carmichael’s award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated talent, vision, and implementation in the retail environment. Also, at the same award ceremony, the team that Carmichael is a part of at Saks Fifth Avenue received the Excellence in Visual and Design Award given by VMSD magazine
