CIA ingenuity will be on display at arts and technology festival

Students, alumni to present work at 2014 Ingenuity Fest

CIA will be well represented at IngenuityFest again this year. Cleveland’s annual celebration of arts, science, and technology is set for Sept. 26-28 at Dock 32, immediately north of FirstEnergy (Browns) Stadium.

Sculpture major Changyeob Ok ’17 will present The Trinity Tree, an “arborescent sculpture” that evokes spiritual connection as viewers interact with this life-size tree of wire. Ok, who holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, pushes and blurs the boundaries between technology, nature, and humanity through this work.

"Team LED" (Luminant Efficient Designs) is a team of four designers, who started collaborating last year for CIA’s In The Dark, wearable technology project. They will present two pieces that incorporate light and that change as the wearer moves, Luminance and Pulse. Team members are Drawing grad Ben Horvat ’14, Graphic Design grad Marcelina Kniss ’14, Photography + Video major Eric Payne ’17, and CWRU computer engineering grad Ray Krajci ’13.

Marcus Brathwaite ’13, Ainsley Bucknew and 38 fourth graders from Mound Elementary School will present an interactive archway. Jason Tilk ’97 and his collaborators will perform with their mini-circus, Voix de Ville.
