Now in its 75th year, the Cleveland Institute of Art's Student Independent Exhibition (SIE) is an honored tradition that’s never conventional. Organized entirely by students, who choose the jurors and mount the exhibition, SIE offers fresh, and sometimes surprising approaches to contemporary art.
On view March 26
Entropical Paradise is an exhibition of ambitious video installation projects by students in CIA's Advanced Video Projects class. Organized in collaboration with the Reinberger Gallery and faculty member Jacob Koestler, Entropical Paradise is an immersive sensory experience that tests the bounds of the physical, virtual and the real.

A tradition that spans more than eight decades, the CIA Faculty Exhibition is a celebration of art, design, and their makers. It provides an opportunity for the public to view new works from our world-renowned faculty.
TITLE TBD, curated by Meghana Karnik, explores how love, time and precarity connect artists asking urgent questions about conflict transformation, lifelong artistic practice and equitable futures.
Considered every CIA student's capstone achievement, this year's BFA Thesis Defense week took place May 4-8. Presented online, this exhibition includes each member of the Class of 2020 as well as links to view their work. Join us in congratulating the Class of 2020 and CIA's Traveling Scholarship recipients by visiting the virtual exhibition!
How Are You Doing? will honor the work of 2020 CIA graduates, whose culminating physical exhibition was displaced due to the COVID-19 health crisis. This show does not intend to serve as a replacement BFA exhibition. Instead, it will function as an opportunity to exhibit recent works by these artists that best represent their respective practices. We aim to reconnect those who were unable to exhibit and celebrate with their peers—who are most often an artist’s most treasured professional network—in this re-imagined way of finalizing their undergraduate experience. It will be on view in Reinberger Gallery when college health and safety protocols allow audiences to gather.
CIA's Reinberger Gallery supports the creative work of professional artists by providing quality exhibition opportunities. It also serves CIA students, faculty and the community as an educational resource, and particularly to encourage artistic growth and experimentation through well-presented exhibitions, events and lectures.
