Tune in the Vibration, a solo exhibition by CIA senior Ian Smith, explores vibrational energy as it relates to spirituality.
Tune in the Vibration will open Monday, October 9 with an exhibition opening from 6–9pm in the Art Studio Gallery at Case Western Reserve University, 2215 Adelbert Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44106. The exhibition will remain on view through October 13.
Smith believes that "Vibration plays a big role in spirituality and acts as a gateway into that world. Tune in the Vibration will create a space where people can learn about spirituality, and start a conversation about similarities and differences within religions, ultimately bringing people together through the use of iconic religious symbols and imagery."
"Vibration is all around us. The universe is made of energy that is vibrating. What we say and think is vibration. This stems from manifestation. Sacred geometry and religious iconography hold vibrational energy. By exploring these symbols we can use them to achieve higher individual vibration."
"I believe CWRU's Studio Art Gallery is a perfect space for this project because of the diverse students living on campus. I want to hear how the work responds to students of different backgrounds and cultures."
This exhibition is a culmination project under the Cleveland Institute of Art’s Creativity Works internship. Participating students are tasked with organizing a project of their choice with a community partner over the course of the semester, all while practicing professionalism and gaining knowledge useful to their future career in the arts.
Creativity Works is made possible by the generous support of the Fenn Educational Fund and the G.R. Lincoln Family Foundation.
