UPDATE: In conjunction with CIA’s precautionary measure to suspend in-school instruction and public programming until at least April 6 in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, various events have been canceled, including this exhibition.

The post-grad moment is the apex of an artist’s academic achievement—a taste of pride combined with a sense of groundlessness. What’s supposed to happen next? A love letter to pre-professionals, T ITL E TB D interrogates myths of being an artist and the disconnect between student and artist life, offering strategies by contemporary survivalists. Relationships between love, labor and precarity form the connective tissue of the exhibition, and its public events explore urgent questions of balance, conflict transformation and care. Some artists provide insight through self-reflection, and others find liberation bound up in the collective, advocating for peers or postulating futures unseen.

Artists in the exhibition include:

Adult Kindergarten
Thomas Barger
Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo
Jeff Kasper
Ariane Loze
Natalia Nakazawa
Emily Mae Smith

T ITL E TB D is curated by Meghana Karnik.

The exhibition runs through June 12, 2020.
