Israel Davis will be giving an artist's talk on Thursday, February 22 at 9:30 am in CIA's Peter B Lewis Theater.
Davis is working on a new body of work that integrates ceramics with digital fabrication technologies—including the use of an Epilog laser etcher/cutter, a ShopBot CNC router, and a Ricoh ceramic toner laser printer.
Davis' work has been exhibited across the country, and he has participated and taught numerous summer intensives, including courses at Ox-Bow School of Art, Penland School of Crafts, and Ceramica Artistic Prospettiva, in Trieste, Italy.
"Izzy" is an artist, educator, musician, BMX biker and skateboard enthusiast who lives and works in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He served as the chair of the Ceramics Program at the Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts.
