Opening reception 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1

The Cleveland Institute of Art is dedicated to providing a climate that produces excellence every day. Faculty, staff and administrators are all chosen for skills that equip them to cultivate an environment of remarkable creativity.

Technical specialists are part of this environment. These often-unsung experts work directly with faculty, students and staff to bring creative ideas to fruition. They trouble-shoot logistics of making, they brainstorm and support, and they help locate hard-to-find material. In these ways and countless others, technical specialists support students and faculty in their efforts to make the imagined real.

Technical specialists are creative professionals in their own right, too.

This exhibition is a remarkable opportunity to see the inventiveness and expertise the TS turns on his or her own work. On view in the Ann and Norman Roulet Student and Alumni Gallery, the Technical Specialist Exhibition is a perfect complement to the Faculty Exhibition, opening concurrently in the Reinberger Gallery. It promises to contribute to an evening of great art.
