In a tradition that dates back to 1906, Cleveland Institute of Art showcases works by its internationally collected faculty members when its 2014 Faculty Exhibition opens in CIA’s Reinberger Galleries on Thursday, Aug. 28.

The show, which opens with a free public reception from 6-8pm, will feature more than 75 pieces by some 45 artists and designers working in glass, clay, metals, fiber, painting, drawing, installation, photography, video, and various fields of design. The Reinberger Galleries are in CIA’s George Gund Building, 11141 East Boulevard. The gallery’s fall hours are Monday through Thursday and Saturday, 10am to 5pm; Friday 10am to 9pm; closed Sunday. The 2014 Faculty Exhibition will be on view through Oct. 11.

In past years, several of the artworks on view at the Faculty Exhibition have sold before the end of the show. CIA faculty members have works in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution; Museum of Modern Art; Victoria and Albert Museum; the Vatican; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
