CIA seniors pour themselves into their capstone projects: their bachelor of fine arts (BFA) thesis exhibitions. The week of May 5, 2014, all seniors will present (and defend) their exhibitions before their thesis committees.

On Friday night, May 9, from 7:30-10pm, the public is invited to celebrate the achievements of these artists and designers at MOCA Cleveland, 11400 Euclid Avenue. And at 8:30pm President Nunes will announce the winners of the 2014 President's Traveling Scholarships, the cash awards that enable six graduates to travel after graduation and pursue special projects.

The top 20 finalists for the 2014 President’s Traveling Scholarships are:

  • Melissa Logies, Biomedical Art
  • Nicole Mehle, Painting
  • Matthew Queitsch, Printmaking
  • Sherae Rimpsey, T.I.M.E.
  • Emily Smith, Photography
  • Lyndsey Vu, Illustration
  • Christina Watterson, Drawing

The BFA exhibitions will also be on public display on Saturday, May 10, from 10am-5pm.
