Spend a lunch hour learning about the latest in art and design during these Friday lectures. Each lecture features a variety of artists and designers from around the world, including CIA faculty and visiting artists.
CIA Professor Brent Kee Young, Department of Glass, has been recognized by scores of museums, galleries, colleges, and universities in the United States and Asia. In 2006, the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Renwick Gallery acquired its second piece by Young for its permanent collection. Amphoa...Save is from Young's Matrix Series, a construction of intricate and technically complex works he created by flame-working Corning Pyrex glass rods into layers of glass webs. In 2010, Young's work was selected for New Glass Review 31, the annual survey of contemporary glass sponsored by The Corning Museum of Glass and in 2011 he was selected as a Creative Workforce Fellow.
