In Hitchcock’s globe-trotting espionage thriller, a CIA agent (John Forsythe) and a French spy uncover some alarming int’l security breaches at the time of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Cut by 20 minutes and released with an unsatisfying climax, Topazwill be shown here in its original extended version with the different ending that Hitchcock preferred. French art-film notables Michel Piccoli, Philippe Noiret, Michel Subor, and Claude Jade have prominent supporting roles. Cleveland theatrical premiere. DCP. 142 min.
