| 2023 | Margreth Olin
Norway’s submission for this year’s Oscar for Best Int’l Feature is a visually ravishing hybrid of home movie and nature documentary, executive produced by Liv Ullmann and Wim Wenders. Filmmaker Margreth Olin spends four seasons journeying with her octogenarian father and septuagenarian mother through the scenic, mountainous region in western Norway where they all grew up. Their perambulations allow plenty of time for reflections on time, memory, love, and nature. “A remarkable, poetic meditation…Weaves the smallness of human lifespan into the grandness of the earth’s history…Unspeakable beauty.” –Vox. Subtitles. DCP. 90 min.
