Late composer and songwriter Burt Bacharach won two Oscars—best original song (“Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head”) and best original score—for his work on this hit comedy western about two charismatic outlaws (Paul Newman, Robert Redford) on the lam after a string of train robberies. Oscars also went to screenwriter William Goldman (an Oberlin grad) and cinematographer Conrad Hall. With Katharine Ross, Strother Martin, and Cloris Leachman. DCP. 110 min.
