| 2016 | Na Hong-jin
The most recent movie written and directed by South Korean genre master Na Hong-jin (The Chaser, The Yellow Sea) is a lavishly praised chiller about a policeman investigating a remote Korean village where a mysterious illness is turning the sick into deranged killers. Is the newly-arrived Japanese man, whom locals say is an evil spirit, to blame? “A bullet train of laughs, gore, frights and folklore, making the two-and-a-half hour runtime feel like a couple of minutes.” –The Playlist. Subtitles. DCP. 156 min.
