Shakespeare meets German Expressionism and film noir in Laurence Olivier’s celebrated adaptation, the first British film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. A blonde Olivier (Oscar winner for Best Actor) plays the medieval Danish prince who wants to avenge his father’s murder but is stymied by indecision.
