Germany | 1922 | F.W. Murnau

NOSFERATU film still

F.W. Murnau’s spectral silent classic is one of the earliest and creepiest of all vampire movies. An unauthorized version of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the film stars the indelible Max Schreck as the ghoulish Count Orlok, who trains his fangs, talons, and beady eyes on an unsuspecting real estate agent and his beautiful young wife. English intertitles. Restored DCP with color tinting and a music track. 94 min.

Special admission $11; members, CIA & CSU I.D. holders, and those age 25 & under $8. No passes or twofers.

Important Covid requirement. All Cinematheque moviegoers must wear a mask for the duration of their visit. Learn more under the "Face Coverings" section at cia.edu/covid. As a reminder, filmgoers can park for free in Lot 73 and in the Institute's annex lot and should enter CIA via nearby Entrance C. Click here for a map.
