HOPE film still

Stellan Skarsgård stars in this acclaimed drama that was Norway’s official submission for this year’s Oscar for Best Int’l Feature Film. (It made the shortlist of 15 finalists.) Anja and Tomas, a successful artist couple working in parallel worlds, have grown largely independent of each other over the many years of raising their biological children and stepchildren. But when Anja is diagnosed with terminal cancer, the two must reactivate their neglected love and recommit to the family in order to withstand the crisis. “[A] highly satisfying adult drama…Intensely moving!” –Hollywood Reporter. Cleveland premiere. Subtitles. 125 min.
