RIFIFI film still

The granddaddy of all caper/heist movies was made in France by American Jules Dassin while he was blacklisted in the U.S. It follows a motley bunch of Paris jewel thieves who band together for one big job, then fall out over the loot. This influential classic is most famous for its tense, wordless, 30-min. robbery sequence. “The best film noir I have ever seen.” –François Truffaut. Subtitles. 115 min.
