The second feature by the director of the Oscar-winning Son of Saul!
NAPSZÁLLTA

| 2018 | László Nemes
The second feature by the director of the Oscar-winning Son of Saul is a lush historical drama and a work of pure cinema. (It evokes the masterpieces of Béla Tarr, Nemes’ former boss.) Set in pre-WWI Budapest, the film follows (quite literally, with long tracking shots) a determined young woman, newly arrived in the city and seeking employment at a high-end millinery shop, as she gradually uncovers, through a labyrinthine series of detours, sinister secrets buried underneath the lavish, opulent, decadent trappings of the Austro-Hungarian Empire’s privileged class. Subtitles. DCP. 142 min.
