This unsentimental new film dramatizes the troubled final years of the German singer-songwriter who was once a glam Warhol “superstar” and vocalist for The Velvet Underground. Danish actress Trine Dyrholm is sensational as the aging chanteuse, pushing 50 and living in Manchester as she battles drug addiction and struggles to reconnect with her suicidal adult son while also embarking on a European tour.
