Abbas Kiarostami's last film!
France, Iran | 2017 | Abbas Kiarostami
The final film by the late, great Iranian master Abbas Kiarostami is a series of two dozen single-shot short films, each four-and-a-half minutes long. These “frames” originate as static landscape paintings or Kiarostami’s own nature photographs, but digital technology animates animals or people in each tableau. Sound is added. The resulting studies, mini-stories, and vignettes range from the academic and the anecdotal to the poetic and the sublime. “Among [Kiarostami’s] finest, most uplifting works.” –Hollywood Reporter. Cleveland premiere. DCP. 114 min.
NOTE: In our printed March-April schedule, the Sunday showing of this film is announced, erroneously, for 8:25 pm. We apologize for any inconvenience.
