GABRIEL OVER THE WHITE HOUSE

United States | 1933 | Gregory La Cava

This Pre-Code, New Deal fantasy is one of the most bizarre political films ever to come out of Hollywood. Set during the Great Depression, the movie stars Walter Huston as a party hack elected President of the United States. After a car crash, this corrupt, do-nothing leader wakes up a different man. Disregarding the Constitution, he declares martial law, gives government jobs to the unemployed, unleashes the military on the Mob, and establishes world peace. FDR was allegedly a big fan. 87 min.

Special admission $11; members, CIA & CSU I.D. holders, and those age 25 & under $8; no passes, twofers, or radio winners.
