The Cinematheque at the 40th Cleveland Int'l Film Festival! (Wednesday screening at Tower City Cinemas, downtown)

Greece | 2015 | Athina Rachel Tsangari

Once again the Cinematheque is a community partner on one of the new films showing in this year’s Cleveland International Film Festival. This year we have selected one of the most acclaimed and talked about movies of the last six months. It’s the latest feature by Greek new waver Athina Rachel Tsangari (Attenberg) and it focuses on six men on a yacht in the Aegean Sea who engage in all manner of outlandish, macho contests and comparisons to determine which of them is “the best in general.” “[A] committedly deadpan comedy of manners, morals and men behaving weirdly…An expertly executed tease.” –Variety. Adults only! Subtitles. DCP. 99 min.

Shown Monday in the Peter B. Lewis Theater of the Cleveland Institute of Art, 11610 Euclid Avenue; shown Wednesday at Tower City Cinemas in downtown Cleveland. For advance tickets, visit Special admission $16; CIFF members $14; students & seniors $14 (day of show only). Use code “CINE” and save $2 off your ticket price to this or any regular CIFF screening. No Cinematheque passes, Cinematheque twofers, or Cinematheque radio winners will be honored or accepted.
