Fassbinder’s broad, buffoonish comedy focuses on a revolutionary poet (Kurt Raab) suffering from writer’s block and desperate for money. In his quest to score some cash, he sleeps with a variety of women, shoots one of them, and plagiarizes (and impersonates) celebrated German gay poet Stefan George. “A kind of Father Knows Best on acid.” –The NY Times.
