Interior Architecture Open House

09/14/17  |  Posted by LeAnn Troutner  |  Posted in Digital Creativity

As a student in interior architecture, I have watched and experienced that people do not really know what interior architecture is. For one thing, it is not interior design, interior design involves only the easily changeable items – wall color, paint, upholstery, pillows, furniture, etc. – whereas interior architecture involves designing the building’s interior and exterior, the easily changeable and the architecture of the piece as well.

The department has noticed that there are a number of people who don’t even know what the department does. For the second year in a row the department will be hosting a small open house so that those who are transfer students, freshman and even those who are considering changing majors can come into the studios, talk to students and instructors and look at previous student works. Everyone is invited as this is after the Friday studio course. This year, it is November 3rd at 4:45 pm. I want to encourage everyone to come and check out the department.

In preparation for fall semester, nearly 100 plastic partitions have been added to the studio spaces used by Industrial Design, Graphic Design and Interior Architecture students—thanks in large part to our Fabrication Studios team. https://t.co/DZAkTpI4sZ
