Student Ambassadors

CIA Student Ambassadors welcome you to campus!  As current students at the Cleveland Institute of Art, they have inside knowledge of what life is really like at CIA. They're available to speak with you at our virtual webinars, campus tours, in-person events, and through email.

My name is ShaDonnah Miller (she/they); I’m from Cleveland, Ohio. I graduate in 2023 and I'm majoring in Drawing! I’ve been a student ambassador since April of 2021 and I really enjoy it! My favourite memory of CIA is when all the first-year students moved into the dorms and had a small dance party on the balcony of the fourth floor in the Uptown Residence Hall. It was a fun way for us to unwind and cement our bond as the Class of 2023. I also really enjoyed the Halloween party (before COVID).

Hi, my name is Nasir Redenburg. I am a sophomore at CIA, majoring in Illustration. I will be graduating in 2024. I have been a Student Ambassador since May 2021 and I was the first freshman ambassador so I'm proud of that. My favorite memory at CIA is meeting my roommate and really clicking with them on the spot. Another one was watching the Illustration BFAs. They inspired me and got me excited to get into my major even more.

Hello! My name is Mandy Schulien (she/her) and I am a sophomore in Illustration. My favorite memory at CIA would be the Community Outreach Team events like building a trash can for University Circle and raising money for items for the Providence House.

Title Student Ambassador

Hi! My name is Julia Wisbey (she/her). I am a junior in Graphic Design with an emphasis in illustration, and this is my first year as a student ambassador for the Admissions office! I am also working on the marketing and branding committee for the Student Independent Exhibition that will go up in February of 2022, and hope to work in packaging and print design after graduation!

Hi! My name is Daly Horton (she/her). I am from Silver Spring, Maryland. I am studying Life Sciences Illustration and I graduate in 2024. I love that Cleveland has so many resources available for my major—that we regularly visit—like the Botanical Garden and Natural History Museum! I am grateful to be at CIA because I am able to explore all the art processes I enjoy like painting, printmaking and ceramics on top of studying Life Sciences Illustration.

Hey, my name is Natalie Russell (she/her)! I am a sophomore majoring in Photography and I will be graduating in 2025. While there are so many to choose from, I would have to say my favorite memory at CIA has been getting to try glassblowing for the first time. One thing I love about this school is that there are so many different resources available to the students. I would have never thought four years ago I would be blowing glass or making a four-foot-tall sculpture out of cardboard!
