First-year student Lily Hupp’s parents encouraged her to go to art school, and after touring CIA and enrolling in its Pre-College program, she really liked it. She toured SCAD, too, due to family living nearby, but CIA was still her top choice.

“SCAD was too big and they cared about my grades more than my art, while CIA was small and cared about my portfolio.”

The Massillon, Ohio native enjoys taking advantage of open studios as she explores majors. “There is always something new to learn. The open studios have given me a taste of what it is like to be in those majors and not worry about messing up. They are just fun.”
