Location played a role in Liam Mealey's decision to attend the Cleveland Institute of Art. In addition to enjoying CIA's studio space, he cites access to neighboring Case Western Reserve University's innovative Sears think[box] and our shared University Circle campus. "I love being close to the museums, Little Italy and other Cleveland landmarks," says the Lorain County, Ohio native. The first-year student loves to express his ideas and stories visually and hopes to incorporate Animation and Life Sciences Illustration into his studies.
His time at CIA so far has been "overall, very exciting." "I have liked the classes and projects the most. I love being able to spend my time making art and creating something unique," he says. "I didn’t know where to begin with my career in art. It was daunting to think of my options and what I needed to do. But now, after beginning classes at CIA, I’m getting much more comfortable exploring what I want to do in my future."
