First-year student Devin Strother loves to tell stories through her art, and she chose to pursue a career in that field, she said, after CIA helped open her eyes to illustration’s many practical applications.
Devin came to CIA from her hometown of Smithfield, Virginia. Why CIA? She cites the freedom to experiment with media, technique and artistic voice. “Most of the schools I looked at wanted to fit you into a mold, whereas CIA wanted to help build you into whatever shape you wanted.”
Things are off to a good start for Devin this fall semester. “I love the freedom your classes give you to explore who you are as an artist. It helps me figure out what I like, what I don't and what I need to get better at.”
We’d love to see what you're working on; send us some samples, and we’ll give you our feedback!
