Public Programming at CIA

Thank you for visiting the Cleveland Institute of Art!

CIA plays a vital role in educating future artists and designers and is integral to Northeast Ohio's creative economy. Our academic program includes majors in visual arts, entertainment arts, design and craft, and for nearly 140 years, our alumni have created art and designs that are familiar around the world.

We hope you'll join us again soon at CIA. Visitors are invited to enjoy public programming year-round through Reinberger Gallery, the Cinematheque and our Continuing Education program.

The Cleveland Institute of Art’s public programming is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. Public programming is also generously supported by CIA’s community partners. Visit cia.edu/partners.

Reinberger Gallery

Reinberger Gallery supports the creative work of professional artists by providing quality exhibition opportunities. It serves as an educational resource, particularly to encourage artistic experimentation and growth through well-presented exhibitions, events and lectures. Reinberger also oversees CIA's other exhibition spaces.

Cinematheque

The Cinematheque is one of the country’s best repertory movie theaters, according to The New York Times. This alternative film theater shows classic, foreign and independent films. Screenings take place in CIA's Peter B. Lewis Theater, which features a 36-foot-wide screen, 4K digital and 35mm film projection, and Dolby Digital 7.1 sound.

Continuing Education

Courses for adults and young artists cover a wide range of processes and media and can accommodate all skill levels. Through in-person programming, you can access state-of-the-art technology and equipment, including ceramics and metal studios, digital labs, and more. Students get a unique and in-depth learning experience from our instructors, who are practicing artists and designers, and often faculty here at CIA.
