Support CIA . Planned Giving
Planned giving allows you to make a charitable gift that is structured to meet your personal financial, tax, and estate planning objectives.

A planned gift—whether by a gift from a will, trust, life insurance or other means—is added to the Institute’s endowment fund, which insures that your gift will help in perpetuity to educate future generations of artists and designers. Every gift counts. Please contact Margaret Gudbranson, Esq., at 216-421-8016 or mgudbranson@cia.edu to start a conversation about the best way for you to make a planned gift.
There are a variety of techniques and vehicles, such as bequests, life insurance gifts, or IRA gifts, which maximize the value of your gift by helping you reduce income tax, estate tax and/or capital gains tax liabilities. In addition, charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts are structured to provide a life income benefit.
Suggested general language for a gift made in a will or trust:
I give the sum of __________ Dollars ($_______) to the Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland, Ohio, or its successor or successors, for the unrestricted support of the Cleveland Institute of Art’s mission
Of course, Margaret would be more than glad to work with you and your advisor to suggest language to make a gift of restricted support, such as to the Institute’s Alumni and Friends General Scholarship Fund.

The Cleveland Institute of Art grows and sustains the excellence of its academic and artistic programs in large part due to the generous planned giving by individuals of ordinary means as well as those of great wealth.
